As a regional artist Jack Randell has been working with and studying animals his whole life. On family farms, with family pets, out in the bush and at the fabulous open range Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Animals as models for the artist, are fleeting, indifferent subjects. When doing a study at the White Rhinoceros field at Western Plains Zoo, a lead female ambled down to observe the observer, snorted disinterest and then wandered back to the herd.
