This year we will explore the wonderful world of Animals in Art to build students skills in a fun, relaxed and encouraging environment. This term we’ll fly with Birds to discover and develop creative styles in each learning session of the 8 week program.

Art after School classes include all art materials, plenty of inspiration and personalised guidance. Students will enjoy artistic freedom and great creative vibes every week. We also host a mini-exhibition for families & friends at the end of term. Both venues are accessible rooms on the ground floor.

Students build confidence, developing their skills whilst guided through set-by-step instructions and fun demonstrations to use tools for creative expression. Students will investigate a variety of mediums and techniques and take home a folio of activities and a finished canvas to hang at home.

We will use different brushes, pens, pencils, paint, scissors as well as different papers and canvas. Teen class employ advanced techniques and tools. These sessions are in-person, off-line, in-studio - creating, connecting and learning!

Your Tutor

Miss Kerry loves to find new ways to share nature-inspired art, particularly with a new generation of artists.  Kerry engages a variety of disciplines especially art, science, and sociology. Her greatest muse is the garden, forming the basis of her interconnected environmental practice that spans textiles, photography, landscape design, murals and installations. She has regularly collaborated with ecologists, artists, health workers, community organisations, farmers and other stakeholders all woven together to create proposals for sustainable living. Kerry thinks “The natural world has been a source of inspiration for artists since time immemorial, Art & creativity has the power to change hearts and minds… and the world around us”

Program Director and tutor Jack Randell has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. Jack is an award-winning visual artist whose practice includes painting, film, public art, exhibition curation and large-scale expressive murals. Jack has exhibited widely in Australia and overseas with work in public and private collections.

Our contracted tutors are practitioner artists and experienced educators, and have Working With Children Checks. Our learning approach is patient and practical, using demonstration to bring out the best for each student.

Our learning agreement

The learner is asked to participate in a cooperative manner, showing respect to the tutor and fellow learners. The group will engage in practical studio-based activities and participants must show care for the equipment supplied and the premises occupied. The learner will be shown how to clean and store equipment and will be expected to do so, by way of good studio practice. In a creative environment, coercive or aggressive behaviour is unacceptable. The learner should report concerns on these points to the tutor or parent immediately should they occur. Breaches may result in the learner forfeiting their place in the program. Art Club puts health and safety first.

Terms and Conditions In Brief

Learners, tutors, parents, carers, and visitors are asked to contribute to and be aware of our Child Safe Policy that states our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of child learners and others in our care. Learners displaying signs of illness will be asked to stay at home. We do our best to catch you up on any missed activities. Cancellation may be used as a credit toward another class.

From time to time we take photos during class of students and artworks. These photos are used for Art Club’s promotional purposes such as press advertising, brochures, social media, editorials, and website. These photos will never be sold and will be used exclusively by and for ArtClubDub. As a Condition of Enrolment your consent is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos of you, your child or your artwork please notify us in writing.
